I've heard it said that most people quit their leader before they quit their job. Maybe it is because they don't trust their leader... or don't feel trusted by their leader? Thoughts...

Good questions my friend. One thing which struck me with reading your post is what is the connection between trust and respect. Can you follow a leader you may trust due to their character, but you don't necessarily respect because of how they go about leading or are hard to follow. In other words you trust htem as a person but have a hard time respecting them as a leader. Any how...random thought which came to mind.
