I'm pissed...

That's right. I'm angry. My blood is boiling. I've had it up to here. My heart is racing and pounding out of my chest. I talked with a friend last night... and I think he is being treated... (deep breath, deep breath)... "crummy". And it makes me MAD.

So what makes you mad?
What makes your blood boil?
When do you see red?

In my sleepless night... I reflected a bit on what turns on this switch in me. And at least one of the things is when someone close to me... someone that I care about... is mistreated, taken advantage of, or bullied.

I'm going to go outside and scream!

My "pissed" moments primarily revolve around the well-being of my family. Wife, son, brother, sister, mom, dad. Those are my priorities.

Lately though, I'm getting a littly pissy about people who take advantage of others. (Child abuse, etc.)

Mud... There are some battles we must fight. Some things that should anger us and make us boil.

Jesus seemed to fight for those on the under-side of power... That is close to the heart of God.

We need to be careful to label this issue at hand as "Jesus fighting for the underdog".

Christ also calls us to respect leadership...something that is close to the heart of God. Obedience.

Clay, I feel your pain. I did not have the same close relationship to your friend but he was an influence on my life. He was by my estimation "wronged".
Respect leadership?? yes. But leaders can make mistakes and need to be held accountable and to the same standards as those they lead.
My prayers are with both of your families.

Anonymous #1 - Welcome to Clay's World and thanks for joining the dialogue. I'm not sure you read the post... I'm venting a little bit.

When you've got a close brother that you share life with... then you tend to cry together, laugh together and grieve together. I am coming alongside my brother in his time of need.

Anonymous #2 - Welcome as well. Thanks for the validation. I guess the view on "wronged" really depends on your perspective. Honestly, there are always many sides to a situation.

That is why I think truth is often best discovered in a community dialogue... where God can speak through a multiplicity of voices.

We are all prone to mistakes... I should know I make them regularly. That is why I cling to the grace of God... like my life depends on it.
